Congratulations To Prince William & Kate Middleton

Yes, I am a Brooklyn Dame…but I still keep in touch with all things Brit. I’ve thought the American press coverage leading up to the wedding was excessive (was it necessary to send a reporter to speak to Ms. Middleton’s hair dresser?) but it is an exciting event to me all the same. This is the first time in 350 years that a royal has married a ‘commoner’…maybe, as the couple has shown by having more active involvements in the ceremonial preparations, some traditions are ripe for change.

Congratulations to the couple — and I wish joy for them as they begin their lives together!

True the press were excessive but it is a feel-good story and the Killer-Tornados would have been sad so lets go out and cover a relatively positive story since so much of the world is in turmoil. Plenty of time to cover the sad, bad and negative stories.

Congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton on their marriage.

I agree! With all of the negativity, a 'feel good' day is a good thing. Family in the UK said that the national mood is great; even the people who were grumpy about everything from the streets being closed to the expense of the wedding seem to now be in the spirit of the day (or, at least, keeping their mouths shut so all well-wishers can enjoy themselves).

Regardless of all the ceremonial stuff, weddings symbolise new beginnings and hope. Cheers to them!

I was excited myself about the wedding. I love weddings. I like wedding gowns and cakes. I am sure magazines will be doing full layouts and dedicating issues to the event. I am really happy for Diana's little boy.

"Nothing makes me shake my head more than seeing some Medicaid- and Social Security-collectin' ol' dusty-arse confederate complain about how the budget is being busted by "entitlements". Huh? WTH? If you paid into the system, aren't you entitled to get your money back when you most need it? *Sod off if you don't think so…* I just don't understand how we have reached a point where even some po' folks believe that these "entitlements" should be scrapped"

THIS KIND OF THINKING BURNS MY ASS THE MOST. WHY DONT THEY SEE WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. FUCKING IDIOTS.
