Banking Our Stem Cells

I keep thinking about stem cells. When are they going to get to the point that they can not only grow new custom noses and ears in molds with them, but inject them in knees and necks and backs to restore what used to be good, or might have been good, or something?

Banking Our Stem Cells.

Time takes its toll and we all know it. But that doesn’t mean we have to accept the breaking-down of cartilage without a fight. Need a new liver or pancreas? No problem. Come back in a week. Or, even better, have a cup of stem cells in the morning instead of coffee with your toast, and whatever is not quite right that day will be miraculously replaced by lunch time.

Now, that’s more like I had in mind. And it’s moving in that direction with the banking of newborn’s umbilical cords for later life custom organs and cures.

Then, I suppose, we’ll be inundated with “Designer Stem Cells”.  But that will be another topic for another day.
