You Only THINK You Know How Out Of Touch Mitt Romney Is With The American Public

OK, by now, you’d have to live in under a rock or have been partying all week in Thailand (I’d prefer the latter) to not have heard Mitt Romney’s latest gaffe, showing him as an elitist who is out of touch with the common man.  But, in case you were in Patpong or Soi Cowboy, here it is:

“I’m not concerned about the very poor,” he said.… [Read more]

A Little ‘Something Something’ On The Chain of Command: Respect For Your Superiors And The President

I am a Sailor at heart, and an enlisted Sailor at that. So, taking orders is not something I’m unaccustomed to doing.  Also, 14 and a half years in the military left me with a certain degree of ‘military bearing’ that has left me with the ability to handle myself in most situations.

For example, I can handle a butt-chewing from my boss, even when it’s not deserved, because I’ve been down that road many times before and I can remain calm and courteous because professionalism is part of the job, in my opinion, whether my boss shows it or not.… [Read more]

Panama Meets The Teabaggers

I’m not a proud American, I didn’t do anything necessarily to be proud of. I just happened to be born within her borders, but I like it here, some places more than others however.  I am a humble American.  I am humbled by the opportunities afforded me by birthright.

And I love Maryland.  I just moved here in January and while not perfect, the state makes sense to me. … [Read more]

Giving Thanks To Those Who Don’t Serve

With the holidays just around the corner, there is someone to whom ol’ Panama would like to give a special present. In fact, I’d like everyone to give this special person a present over the holidays. This special someone does more work, puts in more hours, sacrifices more, and receives far too little credit. You may be thinking that I’m talking about the American soldier, but I’m not.… [Read more]
