What Whistleblowers in Foreign Fashion Factories Have Seen in the Past Year

Today, popular apparel companies bring in billions of dollars each year in revenue from retail sales. It may be shocking to hear some of the most popular brands, and even some not so popular, have very unethical practices going on in their factories overseas. These underhanded practices are just coming to the surface with the help of whistle-blowers and government investigation.… [Read more]

How corporations protect the rich

There are a multitude of tax breaks and subsidies provided by federal, state and local governments which protect the financial interests of rich corporations. These include direct federal subsidies to corporations which allegedly cost taxpayers over $100 billion each year. Corporations Are People Too…

…At least that’s what the Supreme Court says (see Citizens United decision).  Then, if that’s the case, why don’t they do what everyone else has to do:  pay their flippin’ taxes.

April 15th came and went.  Tax time!  We didn’t have a government shut-down but, even if we did, congress would have managed to get paid…it would be nice if those mofos actually did something constructive to warrant those paychecks and lifetime benefits.  … [Read more]
