GOP: Lay your cards out where we can see them.

Anyone who has been watching the political news shows recently has seen a familiar sight: Speaker of the House John Boehner is unhappy with President Obama. According to nearly everyone in the world of punditry, the country is facing a fiscal disaster and both sides better come to the table with sound ideas to resolve the problem…or else.… [Read more]

Final bit of Schadenfreude: Am I Blue?

John Boehner is no longer orange but is now oh, so blue. As you probably know, Mr. Boehner is the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and the legislative body he leads is the only one empowered by The Constitution to initiate bills to raise revenue. Mr. Boehner is blue because his fervent hope that President Obama would have been defeated in his bid for a second term has been dashed.… [Read more]

Compromise is Cheap

Ok, so last week’s unemployment report was less than spectacular with only 84 thousand jobs created. Not good enough!!! President Obama must go down!!! …No, hold on a minute! Let’s put this in perspective — it is still job growth.

Remember, the President did have to deal with preventing another Great Depression after being handed the worst economic mess one can imagine from the Right wing.… [Read more]

Tit for Tat

Tit for Tat is an old expression that means repayment in kind, retaliation, as in for an injury.  Tit for tat takes place when one side of a disagreement believes the other side has done something that is worthy of punishment. Ultra conservative Tea Bagger households won’t be places of happiness and joy tonight.  Why?  The ‘Party of NO’ was just dealt a blow by the U.S. Court of Appeals HAHAHA!!!  I LOVE it!  Couldn’t happen to a more foul bunch of obstructionists!!: President Obama’s Healthcare Reform Law stands.

Disclaimer:  When the issue of healthcare reform was tackled after President Obama’s inauguration, I wanted to see a single payer system passed.  … [Read more]

Ann Coulter’s Blacks

Disclaimer:  I find this miserable broad, Ann Coulter rather pitiful and in desperate need of good medication to calm her crazy arse down um, interesting so everything written from this sentence on should be taken as gospel because it’s SO damn true understood in that context.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to write about anything Ann Coulter says given that the entry in Dickipedia says it all — but just when I think she’s walked as far as she can go into the land of the loathsome she says something that shows, despite all of her formal education and legal training, that she’s as obtuse as ever.… [Read more]

Is Anything ‘In The Bag’?

‘It’s in the bag’ is an old expression that means ‘with all due certainty’ or ‘as secure as being in one’s possession’.  That’s an expression that no political party should use when it comes to feeling sure that any vote cast is going to be in their favour.

Let’s face it: the way groups of people vote has been taken for granted for a long time;  that goes for the U.S., the U.K.… [Read more]
