Faith Healing, A Chronic Illness

The blogosphere has been alive and kicking after the terrible news of loss of human life in this country this past week. First, there was the terrible mega-twister that tore through Oklahoma, killing dozens that we know of so far. Shortly thereafter a story surfaced out of Pennsylvania of a child dying under the watch of his faithful parents.… [Read more]

Why Are Right Wing Extremists So Anti-Islamic?

Simple. It has nothing to do with the color of skin. It’s nothing that simple. In fact, most right wingers don’t know WHY they are Islamophobic. They just know they “support Israel” because their leaders “support Israel” and they must do as their leaders tell them because that’s why we have leaders because they know better than we do.… [Read more]

Terry Jones: The Good Reverend

The noble crusader roared north from Florida last Thursday, a stalwart soul anointed by God himself to fight Islam, its 1.5 billion  member army the global Devil incarnate – on Canadian soil, in a prime time, public debate with the enemy leadership. I’d like to meet that god, and I’d like to understand that Christianity.”  Bruni noted Bachmann’s vendetta against Hillary Clinton’s aide, Muslim-born Huma Abedin, and Bachmann’s vengeful mission to spread dissension, lies and hatred toward Muslim Americans.  … [Read more]

Is the Majority of the GOP Just a Bunch of Oxy-morons?

In some states, Evangelical Christians comprise more than 50% of the Republican electorate. In addition, the Republican electorate is, in 2012, almost exclusively right-wing in ideology. It is therefore accurate to say that generally, right-wing Christians make up the majority of Republican voters. The question is, “Is the term or the notion of a right-wing Christian an oxymoron, either literally or essentially?” Put in another way, is saying the term right-wing Christian tantamount to saying something like “gay Nascar?” Alright, alright, give me a break!… [Read more]
