Pack Up And Go

More media distractions…I think that’s all we’re going to get for at least the next several days. The United States has plenty to deal with; we have still high unemployment levels, beaten/pepper sprayed protestors, troops who are scheduled to return from Afghanistan — and yet our biggest news headliner is Herman Cain and his ever growing bevy of accusers. Don’t we have anything else upon which we can focus?

All of this makes me wonder why the news cycle is soooo long. Sometimes it makes sense to get up to the minute reports but, at too many other times, it simply feels like a bad case of information overload. To fill the time, perhaps we can consider looking at what’s going on internationally rather than recycling and reinventing silly crap and calling in “news”? After all, there is news beyond our borders — and some of it actually affects us.

I’ll bet that Herman Cain is sitting somewhere wishing that some of us including his accusers would turn off the telly and let him live in peace. If what those women are accusing him of proves itself true, I want them to be heard. If the accusations are false and as much as I have no use for Herman, I can’t take some of those chicks seriously AT ALL, I want Herman to prove his innocence and then for all of this circus clown show coverage to just go away so that the nation and media can go back to talking about his ridiculous 9-9-9 tax plan and how it would drive the country into deeper debt while widening the gap between the haves and have nots. Better yet, as someone who should never have been considered a viable candidate for POTUS, he should just pack up his war chest and go.

Maybe it’s just me but I’d rather hear the candidates talk about issues other than who has been stepping out on his wife (and/or mistresses). We already know Newt Mr. Family Values Gingrich’s history and apparently only 24% of polled Republican voters can bother to care about Mitt *YAWN*  Romney — so let’s just move on.

  1. Larry Polsky says

You’ve heard me before but I’ll say it again, Brian Williams NBC news
concluded his broadcast with a segment about Beyonce announcing
her pregnancy – can’t we have an update on how she is progressing?
I sure as heck don’t want to be annoyed about any wars we may be conducting beyond our borders.

  1. […] Really?  Oh, and by the way, I’m not talking about Republican presidential candidates Herman Cain (Oh Lawdhamercy), Mitt Romney (YAWN!), Rick Perry (WTLF?!?) and Michelle Bachmann (DUH!). […]
