The Face-Eating Guy, The Collegiate Cannibal, and Why They Can Make Liberals Look Foolish

I think by now we have all read and heard about the zombie attack, sorry I mean face-eating horror, in Miami. But what you might not be familiar with is a Jeffrey Dahmer-esque murder in Maryland, which I read about in The Huffington Post. Some psycho college student thought it was a good idea to kill his roommate and then dine on part of his brain and all of his heart. Crazy shit. Even crazier are some of the comments related to these two stories. They are the kind of comments that have made, and could continue to make, liberals the laughing stock of politics.

Several reader posts attributed the actions of the face-eating guy to the lack of quality health care and drug counseling in the United States. Do I really even need to go into the many reasons why this assertion is completely asinine? Yes, I think we can all agree that the poor get the crap end of the stick when it comes to health care. The long lines at the many free health care clinics held at the height of the Affordable Care Act are proof of this fact. But that doesn’t mean that every act committed by a nut job can be blamed on The Man. Face-eating – HELLO!

I’m all about equal opportunity so it’s time to turn our focus to the liberal take on the Collegiate Cannibal. A few readers sung a similar tune to that crooned over inaccessibility to quality mental health care. Others went all post-graduate dissertation in their responses citing the global acceptance of cannibalism in other cultures. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! He ate his roommate’s heart! That is the type of ridiculous rationalization to a ridiculously grotesque situation that gives elitist anti-college arguments merit. Strapping your dog to the roof of your car – not OK. Ingesting internal organs of the man you just killed – not OK.

Liberals love to dish it out against the right-wing lunatic fringe. I’m no exception. But we have to learn to take it, too. Not everything needs to take a political bent. Sometimes insane is just insane. It’s ok to not take everything so seriously.
