Weekly Wrap, November 11th

For today’s Weekly Wrap, there’s no more appropriate summary for all events that took place over the past seven days than to simply say…President Obama won his bid for re-election. To the surprise of the Republican Party, the President won both the popular vote and the Electoral College vote, with a final tally of 332 to 206 once Florida’s votes were counted.

The results of one night haven’t changed the political culture in Washington. It’s unfortunate that practically within minutes after the results were in, it was business as usual for the same obstructionists who have attempted to block every effort to move forward over the past four years. But with the majority of voters supporting the President, we’re hopeful this is the beginning of a new tone from the White House.

“The task of perfecting our Union moves forward.”

And now, victory night, 2012:

On on this Veterans Day, I quote:

You’ll hear the deep patriotism in the voice of the military spouses working the phones late at night to make sure that  no one who fights for this country ever has to fight for a job or a roof over their head when they come home. That’s why we do this.”  ~ Barack Obama
