“Spring forward”….yes, that’s a good message to share as we wrap up another week. In taking stock of the past week’s events, we can see that several things took place that lay a foundation for moving forward, including but not limited to improvement in the nation’s employment figures, record-setting stock market averages, reauthorisation of the Violence Against Women Act, and even (some) Senate Republicans broke bread with the President to discuss getting beyond the self-imposed sequester.… [Read more]
This week, the White House dashed the hopes of millions of Americans when it rejected a request for Texas to sever its ties with the U.S. Bad news for the more than 125,000 people who signed the online petition for Texas to secede. Far worse news for the rest of us!
My issue with the Lone Star state, aside from the fact that it keeps launching the careers of politicians named Bush, is that Texas is a colossal embarrassment to our country.… [Read more]
After an election which raised the number of women in the Senate to a historical peak of 20, freshman Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) effectively cooked her own goose playing a third rate Ann-Margaret understudy in the latest Republican remake of Grumpy Old Men to block a highly qualified Susan Rice from a conjectural Secretary of State nomination to make political points.… [Read more]
The victim had every reason to believe there was a long, successful life ahead. Seated in the car, there was no reason to worry, no way to know that death was just seconds away. When the victim was eventually taken to the morgue, there was talk that the death was not accidental. But the killer was never charged in the untimely death of someone so young, someone whose life held so much promise.… [Read more]
Broadway Cares…and so do we. Tuesday’s presidential election is critical; it will determine if the citizens of this nation want to move backwards to a time of greater economic inequality, a perpetual ‘War on Women‘ and a renewed era of deregulation.
This election will chart a course. Americans must decide if they’re willing to move backwards to the ‘good old days‘ that weren’t good for everyone — or if they want to embrace the change that will help this nation grow and provide for its people.… [Read more]

The concept to keep in mind here is that the economy is a network of circulating money.… [Read more]
William Robert Looman, 601 Ridgeview Dr, Waco, GA 30182-3437, has thrown his hat into the ring to challenge Republican incumbent Senator Saxby Chambliss in 2014.
Listing his profession on his Facebook page as “Politician”, Looman announced:
FOR THE GREAT STATE OF GEORGIA, I WILL THROW MY HAT IN FOR THE BID FOR U. S. SENATE, AGAINST SAXBY CHAMBLISS, IN 2014.… [Read more]
No good deed goes unpunished, particularly a good deed offered to someone who views life through the lens of naked greed and ambition. Enter Nebraska Republican Senate candidate Deb Fischer, a woman without scruples, neighborly values, or a moral center. We can talk more – all day, in fact – about the reasons honest, honorable Bob Kerrey should be elected, but this story is about his opponent, Deb Fischer, and a land grab that violates pretty much every rule we’ve ever been taught about human values, honesty and compassion.… [Read more]
Oh, and he’s running for the US Senate.
You may recall hearing something about this around a year ago when I worked as a writer for the woebegone Examiner.com (before I was canned for excessive truth telling that interfered with the Examiner’s conservative money-making business model), I tracked down a story about Bill Looman, a tin-plated dictator who runs the North Georgia Militia.… [Read more]
